Indonesia Logistics Association (ALI) estimates that logistics business will increase by 10% by 2018, one of which will be sustained from the trend of electronic commerce or e-commerce.
The chairman of Indonesia Logistics Association (ALI), Mr. Zaldi Ilham Masita said the 10% growth projection is moderate. In the past 10 years the logistics business in ALI records has always grown rapidly beyond the growth of the national economy.
However, in the last two years growth slowed to 10% - 12% of the average growth of 15%. "In the future we believe it can still be above 10% per year," he said.
Mr. Zaldi explains, logistics growth will be sustained outsourcing handling of logistics from the company to third parties that are considered more efficient operationally.
Foreign investment can also be done with 67%. The development of e-commerce and infrastructure is also believed to support the logistics business.
In Bisnis.com's note, the transportation and warehousing sectors closely linked with the logistics business grew rapidly. In the period from January to September 2017, this sector according to the Central Bureau of Statistics grew 8.25%, exceeding the growth of national gross domestic product (GDP) of 5.06%.
